I will be leaving Philadelphia next weekend. Unfortunately I will not be returning to Philadelphia after the break. I will be moving back to Orlando Florida for a while, and here is why.
When I auditioned for UArts I had not yet decided if i was to pursue Musical Theater, or Opera. I chose UArts because they allowed for crossing between the majors of Vocal Performance, and Musical Theater. But I have since decided to study Opera, and Classical Voice. It is for this reason I am leaving UArts.
UArts has a fantastic music program. One that I love, but that deals mainly in pop-type singing, or Jazz. I had previously been accepted into other colleges that had more experienced, tried & true vocal programs. One college in particular that I had been accepted to was Boston Conservatory. My goal is to attend Boston Conservatory beginning Fall Semester of next year. Boston Conservatory does not accept mid-year transfers so I will have to go through the audition proses again, but I don't mind much.
Unfortunately this means that my days as a resident of Philadelphia are numbered. I will be shipping off next weekend.. To all my friend in Philadelphia.. My time in Philadelphia is something I will never forget. It has made an imprint on my life that can never be erased. I will miss you dearly.
To all you Urban Nomads, I will no longer be covering Philadelphia, but will be covering Orlando for the time being. In my absence I pass the torch to Spencer Starnes. He will be covering Philadelphia from now on.
